The Department of Medical Laboratory Techniques at Al-Huda University College organized a scientific field visit to the Blood Bank as part of its educational plan aimed at integrating theoretical knowledge with practical application and enhancing students’ skills in the healthcare field.
During the visit, our students were introduced to:
• Mechanisms of blood collection, testing, and processing.
• Methods of storing blood components and preserving them according to international standards.
• Scientific procedures for separation and classification.
• Specialized laboratories responsible for testing blood samples and ensuring their safety.
The specialized staff at the Blood Bank also provided a detailed explanation on the importance of blood donation and its humanitarian role in saving lives, in addition to answering students’ questions regarding modern technologies used in the field.
This visit reflects Al-Huda University College’s commitment to strengthening students’ practical competencies and preparing them for the labor market through active engagement with healthcare and laboratory institutions.
